The Karnataka State Tourism Development Corporation running one of the luxury trains of India, the Golden Chariot will be adding Andhra Pradesh, a South Indian state, to its present-day itinerary.

The Department has informed that Hyderabad is going to be a destination that they will be including in the route. This move has been made because of a special request that was put forward by Dr K Chiranjeevi, Minister of State with Independent Charge of Tourism, Government of India. As he started his political career from the same state, he wants to take the initiative of promoting the state in the form a tourism destination.

The department from time to time organizes road shows for the promotion of the train. While the others were held in Chennai, Kolkata, Hyderabad and Ahmedabad, the latest one will be in Delhi.Along with this, they also take part in various national and international trade fairs to market the train.

Currently the train covers Goa, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Kerala and Puducherry, by the way of its two journeys- The Pride of the South and the Southern Splendour. In its operational duration of four years, this luxury train has had many successful journeys.
